Chaska Area Quilt Show 2016

This year our local quilt guild had Edyta Sitar as our guest quilt instructor.
With the help of many hands, our show was a success.  Thanks to everyone who helped.

Quilters travel around the country collecting adorable patterns and license plates from quilt shops participating in the annual Row by Row.  Here is a small selection of the ones found this year.

Sisters Outdoor Quilt Show

For several years I have wanted to attend the outdoor quilt show in Sisters Oregon.  This year Jim came with me.  We had a great time, and saw more than the quilt show.  Would love to go back to this part of Oregon for another visit to the show.  Who wants to join me?

Summer Soccer

Summer soccer actually begins in late Spring and ends by the beginning of July.  This year was bittersweet, as the USYSA made changes in age brackets.  With late birthdays, both grandkids that play soccer will be playing in a different bracket than most of their friends.  Happily, they enjoyed the year, and one team placed in two tournaments.  Both play goalie, like their dad did.  One does it most games, the other nearly half of the time.  This Fall will bring new teams and new challenges.  And yes, Fall soccer begins in August.

Minnesota Quilt Show 2016

This year's show was held in St. Cloud, only an hour north.  Great show with some amazing quilts.  Took a couple of classes in fabric dying, quilting and piecing landscape quilts.  I entered two quilts in the show.  My granddaughter entered one.  She received a new sewing machine in the children's drawing.  AND she helped us with takedown of that exhibit.

Shipshewana Spring 2016

This Spring I brought two "newbies" to the retreat in Indiana.  My friend Kris and my granddaughter Haley.  Both were very excited to go.  Haley missed a few days of school, but felt that this would be the only year she could go without having trouble with her schoolwork.  Glad she could come.  Kris had heard about the retreat for several years, and wanted to go.  Now she is planning to come again this fall.  We had a blast!

Spring Break

Had a wonderful time with most of our family.  Papa, Haley and Kevin enjoyed teaching Gus to ski. Jerod and I joined in when we could.  Jen and Soren tried to adjust to a different location.  Lucas ran into a friend from a previous year, and skied until the lifts closed.  Hoping Carrie and family will eventually be able to join us some year soon.
